Shinhwa: Homeless No More

Shinhwa who broke ties SM Entertainment on May 1 finally signed with a new record company. The Shinhwa members
held a news conference on the afternoon of June 10 at Seoul's Chosun Hotel to announce that they finalized terms with GBM
(Goban Media) the previous day for the equivalent of 3.5 million in US dolars. Each member will be receiving about $600,000.
The new contract calls for 2 regular albums and 1 special album as a group and various project and solo albums. An extra 3
million were added to cover costs bringing the total pledged amount to $6.5 million. In comparison SM Entertainment had offered
Shinhwa $3 million as their final offer months before. A curious thing that was announced at the press conference was that
Shinhwa would not be doing activities as a group right off the bat. As previously known lead singer Shin Hye Sung is currently
working with Kang Ta and Lee Ji Hoon on a project album to come out this summer. After that is released Lee Minwoo is scheduled
to release a solo album sometime this fall. The other 4 members Eric, Kim Dong Hwan, Andy and Junjin will stay busy in the
meantime by acting in dramas and/or movies and working on project albums of their own. As for whether or not they will be
able to use the name Shinhwa, a GMB representative added, "We are currently having discussions with SM Entertainment about
that right now. We are confident that we will be able to work something out." Shinhwa also announced that they signed a separate
contract with Good Entertainment which is made up of former SM managers to handle Shinhwa's management and business related
matters. At the press conference only 5 of the Shinhwa members were present with Shin Hye Sung not being able to attend due
to the flu. Shinhwa as a group are expected to release their next album at the end of the year or early next year. New
album releases: Latest word from JTL has the 3 member group targeting a July release for their 2nd album. Also both Fly to
the Sky and Dana are currently working on new albums to be released this summer. Baek Ji Young will also be making a comeback
from a long hiatus with her 4th album in August at the earliest. Follow up news: Group GOD will hold their 4th fan
meeting on June 15 at Seoul's Jamshil Stadium in front of 15,000 members of their official fanclub. Even though fans aren't
willing to admit it there's a chance this could be GOD's last appearance as a group due to their Sidus contract ending this
August. GOD members have been practicing for the 3 hour fan meeting since last month which will feature a solo performance
by each of the members and fan competition games. Comeback news: 4 member female group Jewelry will represent Korea
at a special Korea-Vietnam showcase in Vietnam on June 25. Jewelry who have been venturing abroad after the success of their
2nd album are also planning to have a 4 city concert tour in China in the next 3 or 4 months and a single album release in
Japan. Jewelry who are expected to release their 3rd album in late June are currently scheduled to have their Comeback Special
on SBS Inky Gayo on June 29.
