Anime-ted!
|
Top shelf carpeted with mini anime cards |
I've been collecting anime stuff eversince the Sailormoon Days. I used to collect mini-cards or what
they call "teks". They cost around 25 cents each before. I used to buy those from my classmate every single day. They
were my most prized possessions back then. During our highschool days, I was introduced to an anime shop in a mall nearby.
It was my paradise. Everyday, I would scrimp my meager allowance just to spend a few thousands a month on my 'hobby'. I
would buy manga, magazines, action figures, cards, plushies, posters, and so on (and I would hide it from my mom). It was
my source of happiness back then. One day I woke up with my collections overflowing my drawers - I couldn't hide them anymore!
Imagine the scolding I got when I finally revealed my vast collection. Right now, most items were kept in a
display cabinet at our sala. We have a sort of mini-museum (and the kids would go ga-ga over it when they come to
our house). I add teeny bits of items once in a while...I guess, I can never really get over it. Oh well, at least, I can
say that a part of me will always be a child - and I'm proud of it!

..Hello Kitty..
|
Hello Kitty Cubee! Such a nice catch |
Hello Kitty items were my first collection. As a child, my parents would take me to National Bookstore
to jump around and to buy some cute little red Hello Kitty stationeries. I really adore its pretty, girly designs. My classmates
and I used to trade stationeries back in the ole' elementary days (pretty ridiculous, ne?). Aside from stationeries, we're
also addicted to Sweet Valley, Archie Comics, and Richie Rich. Well, anyway, though the other stuffs were long forgotten,
Hello Kitty stuck to my heart until now. I can't get over it. I'm still a usual face at Gift Gate (and I'm in my early twenties!).
Imagine a girl in business attire swooning over some hello kitty plushies...hahaha! I must've been a sight! Though
Hello Kitty has changed a lot (the red's now pink and the ribbon's now a flower) as I also have, no one - as in
absolutely no one - can separate me from my cute little childhood friend.

Sparkles!

Sparkling hair clips - a must-have 4 me!!! |
I bought my first set of Swarovski clips during college and I was hooked ever since then. I would
wear a half ponytail with a Swarovski clip on one side every single day during my junior year. When the class was shuffled,
my friends joked that they will miss my hair clips (more than they'll miss me...lol!). But then, the industry I'm in requires
a 'professional image'...and so, goodbye to my clips during weekdays. On weekends, I'm back to my krung-krung self. I totally
love dressing up on weekends (especially when I'm deprived of it at work). I love colors. I love hot pinks, sky blues, grass
greens, mandarin oranges, and sunny yellows. I love curling my hair (coz I have them pin straight from mon-fri). I love flowers
and I love being (and looking) a part of a garden. Just imagine how colorful I am...haha! Of course, I somehow wear them with
style. When I want to wear accessories, I tone down my clothes a little bit. And when I wear simple clothes, that's when I
put on my clips, headbands, etc. Anyways, I don't buy much clips nowadays coz they're pretty more expensive than before.
Instead, I make sure that the ones that I have are really taken care of.
